With our call volume steadily increasing every year (over 325+ fire and 1000+ EMS calls in 2024) we still rely heavily on Volunteers to staff our apparatus and protect the growing community of Frederica and surrounding areas.
Last week, Frederica Volunteer Fire Company conducted joint water rescue training with Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company. During the session, members familiarized themselves with each other's equipment and practiced making rescues from boats, aiming to enhance their proficiency for future collaboration during real emergencies.
On Tuesday night, the Frederica Fire Company, along with the Magnolia and Felton Fire Departments, conducted a joint training session. 49 Marine 1 is a 2023 Excel F4 1860 shallow water boat with a Mudbuddy HDR 5000 Surface drive motor.
49 Marine 2 is an Achilles 12-foot inflatable with a 20-hp Yamaha 4-stroke motor.
These boats are on a 2023 One Boat double-decker trailer that is equipped with a light tower and support equipment.
