MVC w/ Injuries

At 0315 station 49 was alerted to an MVC with multiple injuries and entrapment. Squad, Rescue and A-49 responded with assistance from A-48 and DSP.

Fire Prevention Day @ Lake Forest East

Today the children get to go hands on with engines and learn Fire Fighter skills. Thank you to Station 57, DAFB Fire, Kent County 911 and DSP Trooper 2.

Fire Prevention Posters From Lake Forest East

K-3rd Graders submit Fire Prevention drawings to be juged at the fire house. 1st place posters go on to County and possably State level. Good luck to all. Winners will be shown at a later date.

Fire Prevention Day @ Station 49

Kindergarteners visited the station and rode back to school on our trucks. 1st- 3rd grade was visited by Asst. Chief Roth and FF Rocklin.

High Mechanism MVC on Rt.1

At 0522 Station was alerted to a High Mechanism MVC with entrapment. A49, Squad 49, Recuse 49 and Brush 49 responded with fire police. Station 42 assisted with an ambulance. Deputy 49 had command and with a fast extraction both drivers were transported to local hospitals quickly. Route 1 south was shut down for approximately 45 minutes.

ILC Walk through

Members of Stations 49 and 48 were given a tour of the ILC facility in Frederica. Members were shown the facilities and projects performed.

Squad 49 gets first runs

This weekend was a busy one for our new squad. First 2 runs were medical assists and a sunday night 2 vehicle MVC.

The Squad will have all battery powered fans, cutting tools and Holmatro rescue tools.

Crews Asst. Sta. 55 with hay bale fire

At 0407 Brush 49, 49-2 and Tanker 49 were dispatched to assist sta. 55 with a large pile of hay bales on fire. Crews were cleared around 0630. Also on scene were Stations 54, 40, DNREC and State Fire Marshal

Holmatro Tool Training

Members train on new battery operated holmatro tools being placed on squad 49.

Boat 49 Asst. Sta. 87 with Riverfest

Asst. Chief Roth and Capt Rost took Boat 49 to Riverfest in Seaford. Boat 49 was assigned to a 1 mile area on the nanticoke river protecting kayaks racing on the river.

Boat 49 training turns into a tow

While members were training on boat 49 in the murderkill river a jetski ran out of gas and was towed back to dock.

Dump Truck Fire on Overpass

Around 0800 49-19 called in a working Dump Truck Fire on the overpass with no injuries. Tanker 49 arrived and 49-16 took command. Fire was knocked down fast by crews.

Members years of service recognized

Fire Fighters Dennis Dittoe 20 years and Mike Walls 10 years of service recognized at monthly meeting.

New fire truck in station

Squad 49 made its trip from the manufacturer today. Lettering, equipment mounting and training will start soon.
